The weekend is almost here and it’s time for fun to begin. We need to make sure we take time to have fun! Making time for fun gives us the opportunity to forget about commitments and our daily work life. It gives us a chance to be social and creative. By focusing on the actual activity itself it gives us a chance to forget about goals and being let down if we don’t accomplish them. Making time for fun doesn’t mean we pick an activity with an end goal in mind. The activity is all about having fun and enjoying yourself. Some great fun fall activities might be:
- Jump in a pile of leaves
- Dress up at Halloween with your kids
- Visit a corn maze
- Build a fort inside
- Visit a haunted house
- Drive on a fall foliage tour
- Bob for apples
- Have a sack race
- Have a family game/movie night
- Take one last picnic outside
- Plan a scavenger hunt
- Tell stories around a campfire
- Attend a fall sporting event
- Dance
- Compete in a pumpkin carving contest
Fun can add joy to your life, relieve some of your stress, encourage learning and helping you become more social with the people around you. Making time for fun can also help you become more productive at work. When you make that time you are engaging the creative side of your brain. This causes your “inner voice” to become silenced and allows you to have different thoughts and ideas. This helps you see the situation in a new light with a more creative solution.
