Impact of Ohio’s Early Childhood Care and Education Changes – Episode Six of Healthy Living Resources

Healthy Living Resources is a new telecast presented by the Family and Consumer Sciences program specialists that will focus on health, wellness, and the impact that stress has on our lives. Whether it be financial struggle, or chronic disease management, stress can creep up as a result of many of the day to day events that we face in our lives. Join us monthly as we interview Family and Consumer Sciences educators and other specialists who will discuss how we can address and hopefully prevent this from negatively impacting our overall health and wellness.

In this episode, healthy finances program specialist Amanda Woods is joined by Butler County Extension educator Heather Reister to discuss Ohio’s early childhood care and education changes, and the impact these changes will have on Ohio families. These changes are complex and highlight the inequities that currently exist in early childhood care and education. And while these inequities can have a stressful impact on the families that are affected, as well as the child’s educational experience, Heather explains how the changes Ohio is implementing with Step Up To Quality, as well as a team of Ohio Family & Consumer Science educators are working to address these issues head on. Watch the episode below for more information, and be sure to check out the resources listed below!
