Is your tire going flat?

Have you ever been in a car that had a tire go flat?  Did you notice warning signs before it went flat? Maybe a warning light came up on your dash or you noticed a bit more vibration while driving? Even if you didn’t notice the signs, you knew when it went flat.

Life gives us warning signs when we are not in balance when one area is not quite as healthy as the rest. When one area of life goes flat, you can feel just like your car, pulling to one side and feeling like you can’t accelerate.

When we look at our health holistically there are nine dimensions of wellness.

  • Careerwheel of wellness
  • Creative
  • Emotional
  • Environmental
  • Financial
  • Intellectual
  • Physical
  • Social
  • Spiritual

It is natural, as we change over our lifespan, to focus more on some of the dimensions while focusing less on some of the others. However, the overarching idea of holistic wellness is that balancing the nine(PDF)Links to a PDF document. areas is not a one-time goal, but rather an ongoing process.

Take a moment to click on the dimensions of wellness above to learn more. Assess how you are currently safeguarding and improving your wellness journey. If you are where you want to be, wonderful, maintain your journey of health and well-being. If you feel there are areas you are not addressing, now is a great time to make that change.

OSU Extension Live Healthy Live Well team members will be offering a webinar series on several of the Dimensions of Wellness on Fridays April 8, 22, 29, and May 6 at noon that may help you on your journey To register for the series please click on, go.osu.edu/spring22webinars

Be well.
