Healthy Living Resources is a telecast presented by the Family and Consumer Sciences program specialists that will focus on health, wellness, and the impact that stress has on our lives. Whether it be financial struggle, or chronic disease management, stress can creep up as a result of many of the day to day events that we face in our lives. Join us monthly as we interview Family and Consumer Sciences educators and other specialists who will discuss how we can address and hopefully prevent this from negatively impacting our overall health and wellness.
In this episode, healthy finances program specialist Amanda Woods and healthy people program specialist Amy Meehan are joined by Clark County Extension Educator Kathy Tutt to discuss the importance and benefit of implementing Universal Design. As Kathy explains, universal design is about creating and updating spaces so that they are accessible and enjoyable by all ages and abilities. Whether you’re starting from the ground up or making minor adjustments as you go, universal design components are important to ensure that you and your loved ones can continue to enjoy your home now and into the future. The group also discusses the universal design display, which is a collaborative effort that aims to help people understand that universal design can be both functional and beautiful.
