Remember the story City Mouse, Country Mouse? From the country or the city or somewhere in between, agriculture touches all of our lives. The Farm Science Review is a three-day annual event, recognized as a showcase for the latest technologies in agriculture and natural resources.
The Farm Science Review highlights all aspects of farming through exhibits and programs on a wide variety of topics to interest everyone who benefits from agriculture. Visit educational displays and presentations on gardens and home landscapes, Universal Design, 4-H Ag STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), the Small Farm Center and the Gwynne Conservation Area on natural resources.
Universal Design is a holistic approach to the design of products and home and work environments that are functional, attractive, convenient, and support independence for people of all ages and abilities. Tour the Universal Design housing display in the McCormick Building. Walk through a kitchen, bath, laundry/mud room, AgrAbility garage and raised flower bed to tryout out examples of design features that emphasize ease-of-use for all ages and abilities.
In recognition of Extension’s 100 years, Gigi Neal, Ohio Women in Agriculture Team Leader explains, “Celebrating a 100th anniversary is often an excuse to look back, but Extension is looking forward. Ohio Women in Agriculture through Ohio State University Extension wants to showcase the hard work of individuals in our state and show that agriculture is represented in our lives in more ways than we may think.” The 100 Women in Agriculture: What Agriculture Means to Me display features women from all counties in Ohio and one woman featured is celebrating her 100 year birthday this year, just like Extension! Look for the display in the Firebaugh Building at the Women in Agriculture kiosk.
