In a month of holidays, do you know about Ohio Saves Week February 24 – March 1? This week is a time to take a look at your financial picture and take action. Did you know that almost half of U.S. adults give themselves a grade of C, D, or even F on their knowledge of personal finance? Now is a chance to make a positive change! This week’s theme is Set a Goal. Make a Plan. Save Automatically. Take the time this week to select a savings goal and create a plan to save for it.
Here are 5 easy ways to get involved in Ohio Saves Week:
1. Pledge to Save
Those with a savings plan are twice as likely to save for emergencies and retirement than those without a plan. When you make a pledge to yourself to save, you are taking the first step to make it happen!
2. Assess Your Savings
Use this 12-question tool to discover your strengths and opportunities.
3. Saver Checklist: How Prepared are You?
Do you know what makes a successful saver? Managing debt is high on the list. This checklist can help you avoid the debt pitfall when emergencies pop up.
4. Share Your Savings Goal
Writing and sharing your goal both increase your ability to reach it. Take a picture of your savings goal, and you could be the featured saver on the America Saves Facebook page.
5. Share Savings Tips and Advice with Family and Friends
Want to change the world? Try starting one spending plan at a time. Tell at least 3 people about the great free tips and resources at Ohio Saves
